I had this issue.

Rules for TML (My mud, The Mage's Lair) are as follows in brief:
Anything you do on TML is for TML use.
If TML releases it to the public as a downloadable system, we will get your
permission.
Any Code is pure and property of ME (I own the mud, I pay for it) and I can
do with as I wish.  (Harsh?  nope)
If you leave the mud, TML retains rights to content as long as they are
under the TML name.  (I cannot
give your area to someone else, but I get to use it til hell freezes over).

It is IMPLIED that if you do any work, you have accepted this aggreement.

To make sure its legal you can send it via email "electronically Signed" and
save the date.
