As an aside, it would be interesting to see object-based 'beacons' that broadcast certain act_news to descriptors in other rooms. A beacon in room 1001 with a v0 of, say, 3000, and a v1 of 1 (active) would 'broadcast' everything the 'room' sees to room 3000. Interestingly, a v1 of 2 could mean object, as in, "anyone carrying an object of v0's vnum will get the broadcast". Kinda like a mobile phone or a radio, or a bugged room :)
Would require a little bit more code, but in the long run would end up being more flexible. -- Jeremy Hill ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike Barton" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, May 16, 2003 11:01 AM Subject: Re: Channeling text from one room to another in act_new, there's a loop that cycles through people in a room... for ( ; to != NULL; to = to->next_in_room ) Basically you're going to have to extend this loop to include those in the spectator room when ch or vch is in the arena room.
