Interesting idea... I think the only solution for the economy problem would be to just settle on a unit, then allow the participating muds to scale that unit to their own environment. Maybe give an algorithm and/or some tools to help determine that scale, based on things like average amount of money stored in pfiles. I'd be willing to help with any part of this, if you like.. defining protocols, coding, bandwidth, etc..
