You cannot drop into a shell on a remote connection.
However, letting the player enter apostrophe's into any text that is saved
in a pfile is cause for disaster. 

Many strings in a pfile are read using functions that are expecting an
apostrophe around a word:   'This is a single word'

If you have an apostrophe without an ending apostrophe, most likely you will
crash the mud on player loading. This of course, is all stock. People have
worked around the issue.
