Well Rick, then you are going to have a problem where it won't patch anyway.

Typically the patches are designed to go into the ORIGINAL codebase, not a
modified version.
The patches actually insert code into the .c and .h files at certain line
numbers, not at certain functions or certain places in certain functions.
You will have to manually patch your code as though they were snippets. Good
