Hello, I would definitly be interested in helping to put some docs and info together in regards to ROM... As you can see in this screen shot, I think I had done fairly hefty changes back before I had ever seen a modded who system.
http://avmud.atspace.com/imwho.gif Course, that was only a who screen done in 1997 but there sure was allot of code that had to be updated on the fly, allot of flags set and who knows whatever else..I was more interested in coding and inner apearence than being an imp of a mud. Pretty funny now that I think about it.. I have about 7 fully modified rom codebases that I wrote, coded and built the areas for all during the time I first started coding yet I, to this day don't have one online.. That who screen shot was what is the mud school in most muds.. That mob talked, took you places, gave you stuff and so on. Thats about the only look inside the mud that anyone has ever seen so don't knock me for trying.. Developing muds solo without help from anyone at all does have it's down times. But i've always had ideas.. Just nowhere to put them.. So yeah, I'd be interested in writing docs and stuff. Muds / Rom will always be around because 1, they are free to play, 2, because allot of people use rom to do exactly what I did, and 3, they are just plain fun. Thanks, Chris > Come to think of it, I cannot find any that have more than a gdb > tutorial, the codebase and the documentation on it. Other than bug > fixes there's not much out there for starting up with ROM.
