Not really a bug, it's the way things were designed. Objects will reset randomly while players are "in" the area, and yes, this includes redit reset, etc . This is a well known feature, to a degree it prevents cheating in the sense that imms can use redit, reset the room, watch the objects pop back up, take the object, sell it, etc.
Keep in mind that you don't HAVE to be an immortal to use the redit command. I've seen more than one mud with that command set to level 1, and proper security restrictions set in place. As long as you have those, you can use olc @ level 1, providing you're listed as an area builder and you have the proper security for the area. This allows for general users to help the game by creating areas, but not affect it by cheating and loading objects with the reset command.
