Take a look at the memory code found here: http://www.dreamless-realms.org/downloads-file-7.html I don't claim to have written that, just found it a couple of years back, and it's helped me quite a bit. Basically this will get rid of a lot of your buffer overflow problems, as it expands the buffer as necessary. Quite usefull if you've got a few areas in your game :)
