Tristan, By default, if the file that PICO is using when its process is killed has changed and not been saved, it creates a FILENAME.EXT.save file. This file contains the changes to the point the process was killed. You can then PICO that file and save it back as the original.
You can kill the disconnected processes using the KILL command.
