I'm glad that the hacking of TMC has brought you all closer together. You're right, if only they had more security, they would have been safe. In only we all locked our doors. If only we all drove the speed limit. If only we all ate healthy food. The bottom line is, you can be as safe as you want to be, doesn't mean other people are going to respect your safety. There's a million and one anti-virus programs out there, but they come up with new viruses. There's a million and one ways to protect your server, but people still find a way in.

You want to celebrate that a site was hacked, I'll remember it when your MUDs and/or sites are hacked. And when you look for sympathy, I'll laugh my ass off.

I for one, believe that The MUD Connector is a foundation that MUDs have built themselves upon. It's like laughing because someone burned a flag, spray painted all over the Statue of Liberty. Perhaps not as serious, but all the same. For those of you that will flame back with: "The Statue of Liberty and a web site are not the same thing.", let me make a few comparisons. What does the Statue of Liberty stand for? Liberty of course. What does the MUD Connector stand for? MUDs. And what are MUDs most notorious for, other than being text? Being free. What does the flag stand for? Being united, as in the United States. What does the MUD Connector stand for? Uniting all MUDs, all players, all admins, all builders, all coders, EVERYONE that has to do with MUDs.

I know that I am exaggerating a point, but I find myself again and again repulsed by the behaviour I see put forth in this mailing list. I am oft reminded of GodWars admins when I read these posts.
