There's tons of stuff wrong with it, i No you don't, because what should you make as reference point? The rom24b6 code? Funny, but nobody is using that plain. rom24b6+olc+color? OLC 2 or OLC 1, which one are you talking about? What Sammy did was identifying which file it should go in and about where, which is a better way to do it then just dropping patches around. Patches are okay, if you have a standard code to work from. We don't have that anymore. Edwin ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I agree completely here. If you can't figure out how to get your mud compiling with a snippet, well, there's plenty of resources to get it working with. If you used any of -=MY=- snippets, you would find that there's quite a few bugs in 'em, stuff that I don't document 100%. Why?? Because I firmly believe people should -=UNDERSTAND=- the snippet, and how it will affect their mud before it's put in. Not to mention the fact that I have modified my source so much that I won't EVER release a "patch" for rom. People are GOING to forget stuff. Your job, as a coder is to figure out how it'll work in your mud and make it work (if you want it to). Don't criticize someone for actually RELEASING some of their work to the community. Perhaps, instead of doing this, you should release some of your OWN work, ehh? C'mon now. To me this is just about as bad as people complaining because OLC is written in a language different from their own. Be thankful that you've -=GOT=- OLC, that Ivan took the time to create the prog and then was QUITE generous enough to cut it up so that it could be used. So, it doesn't compile cleanly, fix it and move on. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ --- TJW: Head tech, Dreamless Realms Mud Web: http://drealms.kyndig.com Snippets http://drealms.kyndig.com/snippets Telnet telnet://drealms.kyndig.com:9275 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---
