We've all been there once. Go buy yourself a book on C if you want to
know how to code. If you ask a stupid question, you'll get a stupid
answer.
I realize you don't want to do that, or hear it, you simply want to turn
to the list for the answer to your problem, but until you learn what
you're doing, I'd advise finding someone to help you out. If you don't,
you'll end up screwing up more often than you want to admit (everyone
does it as a beginner), costing you MORE time, MORE work, blah blah
blah.

As far as your question, 'twas answered already. However, one thing you
need to remember is this... Most commands aren't exactly going to
return (void), they'll return this arg or that arg.. That's what the
args are for, they're ARGUMENTS. As I said, go buy yourself a book on c,
learn it. You'll prevent making quite a few more mistakes than anything.

Even better, find a coder that knows what they're doing to take your
hand, guide you specifically for your mud, until you're comfortable with
things in the code..

Subject: prototypes...

Please don't make fun of me Tom, because I'm new at coding

With that said.. I've noticed in function prototypes like:
void do_function args((CHAR_DATA *ch, DO_FUN *do_fun, char *argument));
theres the args() thing.. can someone please explain to me what the
point of it is?
-thx
