My name is Silvia Paduraru, I'm responsible with european integration and also
I'm the psychologist of the 41 Elementary School from Iassy Penitentiary.
Mrs. Liliana Rujanu, which you have met at Sinaia Grudtwig Contact Seminary,
2002, has recomanded to us your e-mail address to start a cooperation between our
institutions.
Our school have double subordonation: both to Education and Research Ministry
and to Justice Ministry, that is why we have to colaborate in our activities with
Instructive Department from Iassy Prison.
Iassy Penitentiary is a maximum security prison with 1800 inmates. Approximate
100 from this inmates attend our courses every year. All our students are men, with
ages between 18-30 years.
Our students complete their informations in elementary school, secondary
school or at the vocational courses, for 1 year for the initiation in house - painting
and carpenter jobs.
The staff of our school cosist in 6 teachers, 1 school teacher, 1 engineer, 1
foreman- instructor, 1 priest and 1 psychologist.
Moreover, our students participate to the publish of the school review- The
Thor Flower and to some other relaxation activities: hand-made decorative objects,
drawing, singing.
We organize moral-civic modeling activities, we celebrate national and
religious events-Romanian National Day, Christmas, Easter and we also celebrate the
end of the School Year.
The sport activities is materialize in football and chess championships.
Beside our school activities, the Instructive Department of the prison has vocational
courses, moral-civic activities, give religious and familial assistance and maintain
and develop the inmates's skills.
Both school and Instructive Department activities are ment to reduce the emotional
frustration and social deprive and stigmatization.
The specific nature of our job make possible the colaboration between our
