We are looking for partners to participate in our two-year project "Multi.Lang.Nurs - Developing an English and German Language Course for Nurses ". This is a project within the framework of the Leonardo da Vinci Programme.
Project idea
The idea of the project is to create an intermediate on-line course of English and German for nurses focusing especially on lexis and communication skills necessary for this professional group in performing their daily duties. Thus, such a course will enable them to improve their qualifications as well as give a chance to gain further experience in a foreign environment.
The core in-put materials in the course will be all video-based or rely on visual presentations. This imagery approach seems best to present vocabulary and language structures indispensable for nurses in performing their daily vocational activities.
Activities planned in the project
- carrying out a survey to assess language training needs of the target group
- creating a project web page with a partner communication forum
- creating separate CDs with the English and German language courses
- creating in-put video and visual materials for the course
- creating methodological materials for teachers on how to run the course
- creating materials for students on how to participate in the course
- disseminating information about the course in the medical environment
- conducting a pilot test of the English and German courses among in-service nurses
The partners we are looking for should be both experienced in developing language courses and e-learning. We would especially welcome English and German partners providing education and training for nurses.
We believe that nowadays knowledge of foreign languages is vital in the mobile societies and especially on the mobile labour market.
Funding:
The project could be cofinanced up to 75%.
So the rest of 25% must arrive from partner institutions/ countries
