Nadia a iesit pe locul 4, dupa Roger Bannister, Lance 
Armstrong si Jesse Owens, dar inaintea unor Mark Spitz, Joe DiMaggio, Sir Edmund 
Hilary, Babe Ruth, Cassius Clay, Martina Navratilova, Michael

                  top 20 greatest athletic achievements, "Forbes" Magazine 
                  ranked gymnast Nadia Comaneci's perfect ten 
                  at the 1976 Olympic Games as No. 4, making her the top female

Olympics, I was just 14. I was a child, and I didn't know too much--I knew that 
it was the Olympic games and that it was a big competition that a lot of people 
were watching, but I didn't know the impact that it was going to have on my 
entire life. "I didn't usually watch the scoreboard, but I 
did that time because I heard some noise around me. The 1.00 that I saw was 
probably as confusing to the crowd as it was to me. I looked over at my 
teammates and one of them made a ten sign--a ten was the best you could get. It 
meant perfection was achieved. And then I got six more--at one point I thought 
that the judges were too nice to me. "I'm surprised that 
millions of people still remember that moment 29 years ago. I mean, we have a 
tendency to forget who won the Olympics last year--time goes by quickly. But 
there are some moments that you remember. You look back at the Olympics of 1972, 
and you remember the performance of Mark Spitz. Or the Olympics of 1976--my 
games. I realize when you look back right now how hard it is to do something 
that will make an impact that people will remember." Her 
pick: "Pretty much everyone that did something that had 
never been done before. Maybe Edwin Moses. I think Mohammad Ali and Lance 
Armstrong are the biggest legends in the sports 
world."

Nadia Comaneci: Seven Perfect 10s
No one--man or woman--had ever earned a perfect score 
for an Olympic gymnastics routine before Nadia Comaneci mounted the uneven bars 
on July 18, 1976. But the 14-year-old Romanian gymnast's flawless routine did 
the inconceivable, earning a 10.0--a feat that was so unexpected it wouldn't fit 
on the scoreboard and had to be displayed as a 1.0. But Comaneci didn't stop 
there. The 4-foot-11, 86-pound pixie went on to score not one, not two, but 
seven perfect 10s during the games, winning gold medals in the uneven bars, 
balance beam and individual all-around. The feat remains one of the Olympic's 
greatest achievements--and after the games were over, the World Gymnastics 
Federation was forced to redesign their scoreboards.
