On the other side the Eurobarometer shows that "satisfaction with life" in Romania is considerably lower than in the EU (48% as opposed to 72% in NMS and 85% in EU-15), but personal optimism is higher than in the EU (40% as opposed to 31% in NMS and 35% in EU-15) and so is optimism related to the future economic development of the country: 30% of Romanians believe that economically their country will do better in 12 months time, as compared with only 20% of the EU citizens.
