EC to publish reports on Bulgarian, Romanian progress next month 17/06/2008 BRUSSELS, Belgium -- European Commission (EC) spokesman Mark Gray announced on Monday (June 16th) that the Commission intends to present its reports on the monitoring mechanism for collaboration and control of internal affairs and justice systems in Bulgaria and Romania on July 23rd. Meanwhile, the Bulgarian government announced on Monday it had sent a detailed response, including a description of measures undertaken, in relation to a critical letter from the head of the EC's Enlargement Directorate, Michael Leigh. His May 8th letter expressed disappointment with efforts by senior Bulgarian officials engaged in implementing policies and assimilating funds under EU programmes.
