,fabricate in favoarea sa .

IFJ Condemns Ban on Romanians Journalists in Moldova
he International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) and its regional group, the
European Federation of Journalists (EFJ),  today condemned the decision by
Moldova to bar Romanian journalists trying to cover disturbances in the country.
We condemn this restriction on journalists who only seek to report on an
important story unfolding in Chisinau,” said Aidan White, IFJ General
Secretary. “The government cannot expect the international community to believe
its claims if independent journalists are not allowed to do their work.”
According to media reports, more than a dozen Romanian reporters were refused
entry into Moldova on Tuesday after they had flown in to cover the riots
sparked by the announcement of the ruling communist party’s victory in last
Sunday’s elections in the country.
The Union of Journalists from the Republic of Moldova says that the banned
journalists work for Associated Press, EPA, France Press, Intact Images,
NewsIn, Mediafax, Reuters, the newspapers Evenimentul Zilei, Jurnalul National,
Ziua and the TV station Realitatea TV.
Some of the journalists stranded at the airport told the IFJ that they had been
given no explanation. But, reports say that the Moldovan President Vladimir
Voronin has blamed Romania for provoking riots in Chisinau, a claim denied by
Romania .
The Federation of Romanian Journalists (MediaSind) says that  Romanian media
people in Moldova have come under sustained harassment with some of them being
threatened with deportation.
“It is clear that these journalists are victims of the political crisis in
Moldova , which is unconscionable,” added White. “This is just the time to
ensure free flow of information to prevent misunderstanding and suspicion.”
