According to Inform Media, Ruhama foundation presented last week the evaluation of the programs "Summer kindergarden" and "Parents' school", which involved children and parents from poor families and Roma communities. The project was coordinated by Marian Daragiu and Daniela Tutos and has been developed on August 3-28 in 12 localities from Bihor county: Alesd, Tamasda, Ciumeghiu, Vasad, Gepiu, Lugasul de Jos, Salonta, Sinnicolau de Munte, Batar, Telechiu, Osorhei and Beznea. 274 children from poor families and segregated communities were involved in the first project, 197 from these children will attend the first grade. 260 parents benefited from this program: during 13 meetings, the parents have been informed and advised on how important school is. The "School for parents" approached the subject of how to be a good parent. 15 teachers, 12 assistant educators and 18 volunteers trained the parents. "The goal of these programs for children and parents is to increase the access to education of marginalized children, of Roma children and to encourage them to go to school", said Marian Daragiu. He added that education for marginalized children is one of Ruhama foundation priorities and these programs are developed in partnership with the local administration and with the schools.
