Call for Applications GRSPSociety Project Leaders and Project Teams Openings
Get involved in projects aiming to make a difference for Romania. You will join a team of volunteers originally from Romania currently living all around the world. GRSPSociety is extending the application deadline until 26th February. Read below for brief project descriptions. (Full information available here: http://www.grspsociety.org/projects/openings). 1) Mentorship For Success - Education and Research Support high-potential young Romanians (ages 14-23), interested in studying abroad and building a successful international career, by connecting them with accomplished professionals with international education and work experience who can help them develop and realize their vision for success. Positions available: Partner Development Lead, Mentor Development Lead, and Mentee Development Lead 2) Portal for Education-Related Resources - Education and Research Create an online portal with links to educational resources to serve as a resource for people from Romania who are always seeking to broaden their horizons and learn more. The main component of the portal will be a blog-type interface where there will be regular posts under categories such as the following: studying abroad (links and info about rankings, funding, application process, stories about people abroad), conferences, fellowships, grants, lectures, talks, free courses, open journals. Positions available: Project Leader, Fundraiser, PR Responsible, Web Developer, and Content Developers. 3) It's Cool To Go To School. Achieving Success Through Education - Education and Research Project aims to redefine the image of role models in the Romanian media to inspire students with ages between 15 to 25 to understand the value of education. An extensive public relations campaign will be run in Romania featuring success stories of inspirational figures from public and private sectors (young teachers, lawyers, business people, doctors etc.) that attribute their success to education. Positions available: Database Developer, Research Coordinator Previous Campaigns & Survey Development, Contact Coordinator, Videographer, Research Coordinator Identify Role-Models, Pre-Interview Coordinator, Interview Coordinator, Post-Interview Coordinator & Campaign Strategic Planning, Public Media Coordinator. 4) International Classroom On Romania - Romania's Image Abroad Based on a common practice in the USA, where pupils have to present a foreign country as part of their school curriculum, the project aims to introduce Romania to a young audience (elementary, high school students) through a website or portal with information about Romania. The website will contain presentations and facts about Romania that will enable foreign students to perform presentations on Romania. The website will also allow Romanian students and young professionals who live abroad to access these materials when they are required to do a presentation about Romania at their university, at their work place or even among their circle of friends. Positions available: Project Leader, Marketing Coordinator, Fundraising Coordinator, and Chief Content Editor. 5) Romanian Film Festival Platform - Romania's Image Abroad The project aims to make Romanian cinema more accessible to the international stage by creating an online platform that offers information on how to organize Romanian film festivals abroad. The main beneficiaries will be Romanians living abroad who are interested in promoting Romanian cinema within their local communities. Positions available: Logistics & Venues Specialist, Film Distribution Specialist, and Funding & Sponsorship Specialist. 6) Education And Professional Coaching - Health and Medical Research The project aims to provide educational and professional guidance to Romanian students and researchers who are interested in pursuing a health-related degree or career abroad, either in medicine or health-related research. Positions available: Project Assistants. 7) Health And Health Related Research Exchange - Health and Medical Research The project aims to facilitate an exchange of ideas about health and health-related research between the Romanian community at home and Romanians currently in North America. Positions available: Project Assistants. 8) Health and Medical Research Group Website Health And Medical Research The Health and Medical Research Working Group is looking for a Website Administrator who will design and maintain the Health and Medical Research website. Positions available: Web Administrator. 9) ARCADIA Online Community - ARCADIA ARCADIA, the international Cooperation and Development Working Group is looking for an Online Strategy Coordinator, preferably working or interested in international development who will design and implement with its team the online strategy for ARCADIA. Positions available: Online Strategy Coordinator. 10) Romania As A Development Partner Forum - ARCADIA After becoming a member of European Union, starting with 2011 Romania has an objective of sending 0,35 % of its GDP to projects in developing countries. There is a lot of potential and experience for Romanians to build its genuine contribution to the developing world, more than a passive EU donor. The object of this forum should be to facilitate the relevant stakeholders to debate the position of Romania as a development partner. Positions available: Research and Content Coordinator, Fundraising Coordinator, Advertising Campaign Coordinator, Public Relations Coordinator. 11) Jumpstart Romania - Business and Finance The goal of this project is to provide Romanian entrepreneurs with access to information about investment funds and success stories about Romanians living abroad for the purpose of promoting Romanian entrepreneurship and foreign investment in Romania. We hope to do this by developing a database of investment funds and a compilation of interviews with successful Romanian business people abroad to be made publicly available to Romanian entrepreneurs. Positions available: Public Media Coordinator. 12) Modern Interpretation of Romanian Heritage: A Contest and Painting Exhibition - Culture and Art Organizing a painting contest based on modern interpretations of Romanian traditions. There will be four finalists, and their works will be presented in an exhibition at the 3rd Global Conference of GRSPSociety. The competition is addressed to Romanian citizens that live abroad; the artists will be offered the opportunity to promote their works through the exhibition organized at the GRSPSociety conference and they will be able to connect with other Romanian artists as well as cultural institutions from Romania and abroad. Positions available: Communication and Documentation Assistant 13) Economic Sectors Evaluation Cards - Public Administration and Public Policy The project aims to create a website with indicators/scores of the main Romanian economic sectors. This will be a "one stop shop" that summarizes and brings together information currently dispersed throughout the web by reliable and relevant sources. The beneficiaries of the project will be foreign investors, Romanians abroad, and Romanian citizens. Positions available: Sector Manager, Industry Researcher, Contact Coordinator, and Database Coordinator 14) Online Community of Romania - Romania's Image Abroad Internet users are keen to tell others about their travel experiences and share information about their favorite places. The community will be the link between the people who know and love Romania, and those who are curious to learn more. Here you will be able to share and enjoy photos, travel stories tips and more from friends in Romania and all over the world. Positions available: Fundraising Coordinator, Grant Writer, Community Manager, Recruitment Coordinator, and Webmaster.
