Dear colleagues and friends, The Romanian Journal of Society and Politics, a publication devoted to inter-disciplinary national and international perspectives on Romania, invites scholars and researchers to submit original manuscripts. The article submitted may approach a theme within a broad range of topics from international relations and economics, to public policies, social philosophy and, human rights. We welcome manuscripts which address theoretical, empirical or methodological issues as long as they are relevant to contemporary Romanian politics, society or culture. Given the recent EU membership of Romania, we particularly welcome articles approaching subjects related to it. Every issue of the RJSP contains scholarly articles, notes and book reviews. Articles must include an abstract of approximately 150 words. RJSP considers book reviews of up to 1,000 words and review essays of up to 5,000 words which clarify the contributions and value of the works reviewed for contemporary research on Romanian politics and society. Review essays must place publications into a broad conceptual context and suggest directions for future research. The Romanian Journal of Society and Politics also considers responses of up to 1,000 words to material previously published for inclusion in the "Discussion Forum" section. Manuscripts will be accepted on the understanding that their content is original. The Romanian Journal of Society and Politics does not consider submissions currently under review at other journals or those that duplicate or overlap significantly with materials that have been submitted to other publishers. Submissions must demonstrate excellence in conceptualization, exposition, methodology, and craftsmanship. All manuscripts must be formatted according to The Chicago Manual of Style, 15th edition, with a preferred length of around 25 double-spaced pages.
