ah... plus... we need a consistant way to put that over to the client. Keeping strings just once would be nice too.
Putting it to the client?
For the interim we would keep the client interface exactly as it is, surely?
Or are you suggesting we tell the client to (not) display config options as available?
What ways can you envisage where we might end up keeping strings more than once?
