Personally I didn't which is why I introduced the service, but what if the customer wants the email despite the fact that one of it's attachments probably had a virus? If I throw it away, then it's too late; and I've interfered with my customers communication, without the recipients knowledge- they dont even know their mail has been vanished. And so I inform the customer and let them make the decision; they can inform the sender and do what they can to recover safe parts of the message. I used procmail and formail and cybersoft vfind; what I think I actually did was keep the original headers but create a new body; the message was still "from" the original use, and it would still get vacation'd and sorted as it would have done, but the main body had the warning.
