You did a great job on that. As I recall, I interpreted their documentation pretty conservatively--any ambiguity or complexity was seen as a "well don't do it that way, then" situation, and so I ended up being pretty strict, global, and single-threaded about the locking model--so it should be stable, but it prevents you from doing some things that might perform a little better.
