Oh and btw: I think the targeted way of handling change logs is using jira tasks, therefore it might be worth creating a jira task for it and closing it, once you're done with your work, so that it gets the appropriate consideration in the changelog. I suggest doing that for everything that is worth mentioning in the changelog.
