Good timing! My article on exactly this topic was posted late today
on XML.com. It is the first of a three part series where I review the
use of UML to analyze and design XML Schema. Also, check out my web
site at http://XMLmodeling.com for more pointers. The articles focus
strictly on XML Schema, not DTD, but my related book also goes into
some depth on the mapping to DTD.
I have not, however, dug too deeply into representing XSLT
transformations in UML diagrams. But agree that it's an interesting
topic.
