If you're like me and like to keep as much space for diagraming as possible, you may not have played with the view options in the Rose menu.
In which case you may be under the impression that there is no documentation field associated with diagrams. I.e. when you right-click a diagram in the browser, no 'specification' menu item appears unlike other browser items. But there is a documentation field associated with diagrams. If you have access to SoDA and open a diagram type you will notice that there is a documentation attribute associated with every diagram, but how to acess this? Simply click on the diagram you wish to document, in the browser. Make sure that the 'documentation' field is checked under the view menu. Now type into the documentation view that appears in Rose. This documentation field can be extracted in a Word document from SoDA. Why rose doesn't allow you to see this field from the browser, I don't know, but it may be related to the fact that when I select a note (complete with text) in a diagram the documentation window shows a read-only field showing 'no documentation'. It would be really nice if the documentation view showed the note text when the note is selected, please!
