I said that in the first email:

"Ok, I'm trying to copy the dynamic QPopupMenu that's used for the
Track instrument menu (attached to the Tracks menu). In this case
though I want to attach the QPopupMenu to an editview (so we can
create a dynamic menu of Controller Rulers basically)."

See?

I want the popup menu to replace the current "Show Controllers Events Ruler"
and have within it a list of user-defined ControlParmaters (see ControlList
in the Studio). This list is edited through the gui/controleditor.cpp.

The idea being that each ControlParameter has it's own controlruler which
you can select to show from the editview dropdown sub-menu. BTW each view
(on each segment) should also remember which control rulers it last showed
so that the user doesn't have to fiddle about with it every time.

Feel free to go ahead and implement some or all of this bearing in mind that
the ControlParameter definition isn't quite stable yet. We implement this
connection with controlrulers and also with the instrument ipb (such that
we can choose to show certain controllers on it).
