EventView::m_listSelection is a bit of an oddity. It's written in various places, but the only place it's actually read (applyLayout()) looks like it could as well be done with a local variable.
Have I overlooked a situation in which there can actually be an effective selection on the event list that isn't visible in the list widget, or can we do away with this one?
