Lilypond export now has support for Lilypond 2.0. You select it via
an option at the top of the Lilypond config dialog, which now turns
up as part of the export process.
I've given it a bit of testing, but not a great deal. The
articulations stuff and the new chord syntax should work OK; manual
beaming probably won't; and I couldn't see what to do with text
events (and they didn't work out of the box) so I disabled them for
the moment. Needless to say I'm happy for anyone else to step in and
fix anything remaining.
While I'm here: despite all this hacking with Lilypond syntax, I'm
still extremely stupid when it comes to actually using Lilypond. It
seems regardless of which version I run (1.6, 1.8, 2.0) and which
platform I run it on (SuSE, RedHat), I always get the same problem:
When I run ly2dvi (or just lilypond, in 2.0) it processes the .ly
file and produces a very verbose TeX output which it feeds to LaTeX.
LaTeX then always barfs on it with an error like
Running latex...
ly2dvi: error: LaTeX failed on the output file.
ly2dvi: error: The error log is as follows:
! Missing $ inserted.
<inserted text>
$
l.2620 \leavevmode
I've inserted a begin-math/end-math symbol since I think
you left one out. Proceed, with fingers crossed
No dvi is generated, but the TeX file and LaTeX files are left behind,
and I can then either run TeX on the TeX file (without errors, and
eventually reaching a prompt at which I type \bye) to produce a dvi
that mostly works but has the wrong margins, or run LaTeX on the
LaTeX one (hitting quiet-mode as soon as the first of those math-mode
errors comes up) to produce a perfectly good dvi.
What's up there? Anyone here have an immediate answer before I waste
any more time on this?
Chris
