I'm shortly going to commit some big changes to the notation layout code. I know for a fact that this will cause some breakages, because I know there are several serious bugs that I haven't sorted out yet. So be warned that rendering and editing notation will bear a higher than usual risk of crashes, mis-layout, etc than usual, for anyone using the CVS code in the next few days.
(The purpose is to introduce a new layout model that permits us for the first time to do "correct" layout in which events align properly across multiple staffs, rather than only aligning bars and allowing the notes to render wherever they like.
