As far as I'm concerned these (along with Rosegarden) are currently the flagship open-source audio programs. Every RG user should go get the zyn synth NOW, if you've not already got it that is- you'll probably find that it is TOO feature-packed!! Just after making that last post and having downloaded some of Bownies tunes (there are actually 3 tracks on MP3.com, not just one as I thought) I decided to see what bands Bownie linked to. To my amazement, one of only two bands he links to is The Cocker Spaniels! How did you discover the home-recorded delights of Sean Padilla (the Spaniel brainchild) Rich? He's hardly well known, even in Texas (I'd presume). How have I heard of the Cocker Spaniels? Sean, like myself, is a big fan of tRANSELEMENt. Indeed, on Sean's MP3.com links page he describes tE. as 'the greatest noise-pop band in Britain', and I'd say that just about nails it. tE. are one of the few modern day British bands that I really enjoy, mainly because they don't sound like anybody else. Check out http://www.transelement.co.uk/ - they've got a couple of freely downloadable albums on the net.
