You did sort-of write it -- at some level it's almost certainly using your code in the Pitch (formerly NotationDisplayPitch) class from base/NotationTypes.C. Of course the problem isn't likely to be in the code you wrote but in the way I used it, but either way, you're probably best qualified to look into this.
