To be quite clear: I said I'd keep the current behaviour of the Erase tool,
which means you would not "have to shift/alt/ctrl/whatever+click to erase
an entire segment."  My proposed new behaviour for the Erase tool
would be accessible only by holding down the Control or Shift key.
Therefore there would be no change whatsoever in the usual behaviour
of the Erase tool from your point of view.

I didn't point out any such thing.
You already had your say about my suggestion in your very detailed reply
giving a well-argued case against a change, so I quite reasonably said
I also wanted the opinion of the other three RG developers before deciding
what to do next with my suggestion. There's nothing remotely hurtful in that.
I know you are one of the team of talented RG developers.
I'm making absolutely no distinction between you and the other developers,
so please don't take offence for no good reason.
