I've done that, and also added a sort-of visual metronome mode, which is like the bar-time mode except that it also flashes on each beat. Let me know if you find that any use. My suspicion is it's nice to have but probably no replacement for a really big metronome window. And it's giving me quite a headache, I can tell you.
