That's interesting. I get Japanese with the utf8 encoding. Which KDE program do you use to convert kanji and kana in EUC encoding? When I try EUC encoding I cannot enter kanji or kana, although I am running an input server (kinput2). Isn't Shift-JIS encoding still used on most Japanese Microsoft Windows PCs?
