The usual trick is forcing the -fexceptions flag in the CXXFLAGS variable. Something like
CXXFLAGS=-fexceptions ./configure
should work.
Note that we're likely to make another release at some point in the next few days or so -- I think we only really have the current canvas-scrolling issue to clear up and then it'd probably be a good time to turn the CVS version into the next release.
Speaking of which, any feedback on the drag auto follow thingie ?
