Greetings, I just completed the Swedish translation of the Rosegarden handbook. Guillaume asked me to post this short description to the list:
I used the KDE docbook translation system for the documentation. The advantage with it is that it becomes much easier to maintain the translation. See "http://i18n.kde.org/translation-howto/" for more info. Here's what I did for Rosegarden: - First I processed the English index.docbook by "xml2pot" to create a pot file: cd gui/docs/en xml2pot index.docbook > rosegarden.pot cp rosegarden.pot ../sv/rosegarden.po - I translated the po file with KBabel, and created an index.docbook by using "po2xml": cd ../sv po2xml ../en/index.docbook rosegarden.po > index.docbook When the English handbook is updated, a new pot file can be created, and msgmerge can be used to merge the changes into the existing po file for translation. / Stefan Asserhll ------------------------------------------------------- The SF.Net email is sponsored by: Beat the post-holiday blues Get a FREE limited edition SourceForge.net t-shirt from ThinkGeek.
