It's growing on me too. It's a little fiddly at first, but it really is so much cleaner both on the building and on the tweaking the build system side. I especially like the way it only installs what actually needs reinstalling, which is practically nothing most of the time. FWIW, the reason I never noticed this particular trouble is because I stuck this in my .bashrc at some point that almost certainly pre-dates Rosegarden's switch to scons.
