Having thought about this a bit, it sounds a LOT harder to implement than it 
could possibly be worth.  It wouldn't be a simple oneliner.  There'd have to 
be all kinds of interconnected signals and slots and whatnots to make it all 
work the way I would want something like that to work if it existed.  It 
would have to be smart enough to change the instrument for "what I'm looking 
at," and that feels a lot bitchier than it sounds on paper.
