I am quite happy to have just one method of doing things. It certainly
makes it easier to write about. And I really like the fact that the
normal way of selecting note events works both in the event ruler and
in the velocity properties ruler. If it can be got to work so that you
don't get crashes if you are doing a partial blue selection or indeed
crashing about randomly with the shift + arrow keys, it is more
flexible than Hendrick's red selection method (as that is all or just
one event) and lends itself to possibilities for those who like using
keyboards. However, having said that, the all or nothing red selection
method does not crash.

But if both methods could be somehow incorporated (this is for future
reference of my 2 cents worth) so that you have the flexible normal
selection method with the blue bars and notes and are able to use both
the mouse to increase decrease the volume/velocity/pan whatever or the
up and down arrow keys for same that would simply be great.
