Can you send a screengrab? I'd be interested to see that.

I just tried it (coincidentally) in a new install of Xubuntu 18.04, and that
used the familiar yellow/red rose icon.

I'll have to track this down and make it go away. It's probably pointless to complain to anyone though.

I actually took the photo - Richard made it into a nice icon.

Ah.

I attach the original photo below for your interest.

That really is interesting. It sure looks like the same rose I used as the "Rosegarden rose" for all those years. I had to move that rose or cut down three trees. It survived for one year, but died. I finally tracked down what it was, "Autumn Sunset," and I'm going to buy a new plant when they're available again. This cultivar was patented in 1998, and I must have gotten one when it was a brand new thing. Hell of a rose. It's sad that I killed it, but 20 years is a good run for a rose. This time, I'm going to dedicate a space to it in an island unto itself.

It's from 2004, so you had been around a little while by then.

A couple of years. Wow. It's amazing how much time I used to spend diddling bits and pixels back then. I spent my hobby time today turning a knurled aluminum knob with a square socket in the bottom, which serves as a sort of speed nut for the drawbar on my milling machine, and I shot video of the whole process. I'm starting a Youtube channel, with the dream of doing Youtube for a living and quitting my day job.

Well, something needs to work eventually. I can't keep this day job much longer before my knees blow out and I'm disabled.
