Rosegarden Developers:I have a MIDI file recorded by the KeyMusician Keyboard MIDI Player/Recorder, that is okay up until measure 29, but it then very quickly accumulates many notes that never terminate. I have attached the MIDI file to this e-mail.
The problem only occurs when the MIDI file is imported into Rosegarden. When I play it on the KMK MIDI Player/Recorder, all of the note-off messages are acted upon. It would be very apparent if they weren't, because I use a layered-voice that includes String Ensemble 1, and if the note-off messages weren't there, the 'infinite-length notes' would be very apparent.
I noticed this first in Rosegarden 15.12 (available on Ubuntu 16.04). I also tried it on Rosegarden 17.12.1 (available on Ubuntu 18.04), and it does the same thing.
Could you try importing the attached MIDI file into the latest level of Rosegarden, and see if this happens?
If it does happen, could you perhaps figure out what's going wrong? It is within realm of possibility that it's caused by something strange in the MIDI file recorded on the KMK, but the symptoms have only appeared in Rosegarden, so far.
I have noticed what is probably a related problem when I record long (held-out) notes on Rosegarden, that the held-out note will sometimes be played again (at a measure-bar split), rather than as one long note.
