The issue rose when starting jack_capture crashed Rosegarden in Suse-Leap-15.3 for like the Nth time! This pissed me right off so I restarted everything and set up the cited prerequisite qJackCtl connections for the alternative (native) recording method. No joy, alas, so I started another TS line-by-line ritual. The RTFM says: https://www.rosegardenmusic.com/wiki/recordingamiditracktoanaudiotrack 4. In RG, in the device manager create a new device, name it QSYNTH and connect it to QSynth (the entry is called somehow like "131:0 snyth input port (qsynth:0) (write)") 1 I have no idea how the situation could have developed where this wasn't done. RG gets started either off a panel icon and then the *.rg file gest loaded, OR by clicking the *.rg file icon. The subject manual entry is satisfied in EITHER case so I'm at a loss for any explanation. 2 I had not suspected anything because I was using two parallel tracks to get guitar tone: a Zyn-dssi-155 clean guitar and a GM-34 picked bass. With the GM-midi device being defaulted to No-Port I wasn't hearing the Picked Bass part of the tone combo but I "was" hearing the Zyn-155 and thus suspecting nothing. As soon as as I rectified the issue in 1, all fell into place. _______________________________________________ Rosegarden-user mailing list Rosegarden-user@lists.sourceforge.net - use the link below to unsubscribe https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/rosegarden-user
