Bruce Chatwin's book, "The Songlines", is recommended reading today. Although the author was the center of controversy for his portrayal of certain characters and places. All in all, this book is a great journey to the Aboriginal lands of Australia. Chatwin also uses the journey as a hub for many tangential thoughts on books and ideas. Many Australians love this book and its author, which is a good reason for your consideration.
