It has been pointed out to me I must have meant chdir() when I said chroot(). Sorry.
rysnc --daemon is chdir() to the target of a symlink when it runs. So, changing the symlink which an earlier instance has chdir() "into" doesn't alter the directory of that forked daemon, if you change the symlink. -G
