Dear Nicholas and All,

Thank you, Nicholas, for sharing this information and your work. I think this
is an interesting topic, which is discussed and studied in the IETF SAVNET WG.

I would also like to take this opportunity to introduce our SAV emulation
project, SAV Open Playground (SAVOP). SAVOP is an open platform designed to
implement and evaluate various SAV mechanisms, including uRPFs, BAR-SAV, and
other emerging approaches discussed in SAVNET. We presented it and
corresponding results on top of it at multiple SAVNET WG meetings and IETF
hackathons since IETF 116, and we open-sourced its codes, which is available at
https://github.com/SAV-Open-Playground. We also published a short paper at IRTF
ANRW 2024 to introduce SAVOP. You can access it by
https://dl.acm.org/doi/10.1145/3673422.3674888.

I also encourage you to review the survey questions and share your responses,
and I am interested in your answers and how you think about it. Thanks Nicholas
and all. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or ideas.

Best,
Libin

Subject: [routing-wg] Source Address Validation (SAV) Deployment and
Operational Practices

Friends:

uRPF and similar SAV techniques have been around for long, with new variants
recently/being standardized by the IETF (EFP-uRPF, BAR-SAV). We have done
simulations to evaluate the impacts of these variants.

To improve our research, we set up a short, quick survey for network managers
and administrators of ASNs. In this study, we want to understand the deployment
challenges, operational considerations, adoption trends and operator concerns
in this area.

It would be amazing if you could respond to the survey, available in:
https://forms.gle/3rRtCTa2xk217tyd6

We really appreciate your help. The form also contains an option to leave your
email for us to send you our research results (paper, simulations, survey).

Thanks a lot!!
