Hi Stefan, Sorry, It looks like I cant help here if C/C++ is no option for you. You can try to look inside the source code, but I'm afraid it is not self-explaining.
If you wish I can explain an idea behind this algorithm. But if you want to use it for OSM data, pgRouting has a converter from it, so you can route with OSM data under PostgeSQL. Anton.
