I started out using the "0.7" version from the website, which worked well for me using FC6 - I did run into a few of the problems you mention below, but "quick & dirty" hacked the code to fix them. When I upgraded to Fedora 8 though, the "0.7" version would simply segfault at startup, so I started using versions built from SVN. That also had the advantage that I no longer needed my hacky fixes because the problems/limitations had already been fixed properly. The only thing that worked for me with "0.7" but doesn't with versions built from SVN is sound. I have no idea whether this is an allegro problem or a RPCemu problem - Fedora changed the default sound setup a lot (and not for the better, IMHO) with F8. Also some characters (e.g. ":") are never seen, > or lost somewhere. That also sounds familiar; I certainly remember having trouble with the keyboard mapping (some characters missing, for instance). Again, this is something I'd 'tweaked' in 0.7 but is no longer needed with the SVN versions.
