Certainly the version I have running on a Linux partition on my mac is
very encouraging, though runs at about a quarter of the speed of VARPC
on the same Mac (using the DeskBogo test).

May I add how pleased I am to find that I now appear to be subscribed to
thi list after a series of attempts to achieve this starting last
November.
